Ryukyu Blown Glass Experience

From round glasses to long, thin glasses, design shapes such as vases, small bowls, and beyond, selecting from patterns such as marble, line, or polka-dot! Select and arrange colored glass for each new creation!
Blow in and make a glass shape that curves around … it’s super-fun!

Unlike most of the blown glass activities you see on mainland Okinawa and other tourist spots where it’s done in 5 minutes, here you plan your own design, decide on the patterns and colors, and make the glass yourself.
It takes a little time, but your original crafted glass will be full of delightful memories for you—the perfect souvenir!

ItineraryOpen/Close

(1) Blown glass explanation
Before making it, listen to an explanation of the points of blown glass making and things to be careful.

(2) Place colored glass
Once you have decided on your glass's shape, type, and pattern, place the color you want to use.

(3) Inflate the glass
Once you have rolled the colored glass on the base glass, inflate the glass.

(4) Add a concave point and insert the punty rod
Cut the glass from the blowpipe and transfer it to the punty rod.

(5) Create the glass's mouth
Form the mouth of the glass attached to the punty rod.
Use chopsticks to spread it out to your preferred size.

(6) Finalize the shape to completion!
If you're satisfied, then you're done!
We will either hand it to you directly two days later or send it to you by post.
